Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-11-08

This Privacy Policy explains what information Lanternplay collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to your use of the Lanternplay website and Service.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information: your name, email address, password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text), and profile image if you sign in with Google.
  • Content you create: story prompts, settings, characters, generated text, images, and audio associated with your games, and any stories you choose to publish or share.
  • Payment metadata: which credit pack you purchased, the amount, and transaction status. Your card details are entered directly on Ameriabank's secure payment page and are never received or stored by Lanternplay.
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and basic device/browser information, collected to keep the Service reliable and improve it.
  • Cookies: a session cookie (to keep you signed in) and a language-preference cookie (to remember your chosen UI language before you have an account, or on a new browser).

2. How We Use Information

We use the information above to: operate and provide the Service (generate your stories, process payments, keep you signed in); communicate with you (verification emails, password resets, and — if you opt in — product updates); maintain the security and integrity of the Service (fraud and abuse prevention, content moderation); and improve the Service over time.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We share information with the following categories of service providers, only as needed to operate the Service:

  • AI model providers, to generate story text, images, and audio from your prompts.
  • Ameriabank, to process credit pack payments (Lanternplay never receives your full card number).
  • Our email delivery provider, to send verification, password-reset, and transactional emails.
  • Amazon Web Services (S3), to store generated images and audio files.

These providers are only permitted to use your information to provide services to Lanternplay, not for their own independent purposes.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of functional cookies: one to keep you signed in (managed by our authentication system) and one to remember your language preference before you have an account.

Public game pages may display ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Use the privacy choices shown on those pages to manage advertising consent.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your stories, characters, and personal information, except where we're required to retain certain records (for example, payment records) for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information.

You can update your name, email, and language preference at any time from Account settings. You can permanently delete your account and its content from the Danger Zone in Account settings.

For any request we can't fulfil directly through the product, contact us at [SUPPORT EMAIL — TBD].

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll take appropriate action.

8. International Data Transfers

Lanternplay and its service providers may process your information in countries other than your own, including where our payment processor and hosting infrastructure are located. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and notify you of material changes where appropriate.
